Custom Cabinet

Postby knagy88 » Sat Jul 17, 2021 12:35 pm

I built this about 2 years ago when I decided to sell my vertical offset that I wasn't completely happy with as it was a pretty cheap model and required a lot of tending. I decided to build something for myself, and settled on an insulated cabinet, both for the foot space and the potential to do long cooks overnight without having to worry too much.

I framed it with square steel tubing, inside is 14 gauge steel, insulated with 1 in ceramic wool all around, and decided to go the easier route on the outside by just sheet metal screws for fastening the 20 gauge steel on the outside.

Been pretty happy with it so far, just recently added handles and the custom emblem.

Thanks!

Also forgot to mention if anyone is interested. I did all this with just a $80 flux core welder (crappy welds but functional), and angle grinder and some basic garage tools.
