Added a grease drain and bought some grates, didn't know what to get so I just went with stainless. I wanted to make my own but I was itching to get 'er fired up.

Got it seasoning right now. On the fire up seemed to hold temp pretty easy at 230 with one chimney of charcoal. I added a log and temp is rising for seasoning. Holding within 8 degrees either side of cooker. Seems to be a success! Going to grill tonight but May have to do a smoke on Sunday now that it seems like its going to work! Thanks for all your help!

The 3/16" will work fine for that size cooker.

Nice build it your way... mooberg and others build. Big fire boxes ..weld angle in your firebox add a grate to it . Sear steaks ofset sear n smoke by HEB .. was given to me ..built wrong had to modify it .now cooks better ...Goid luck .. learn your pit . Ins and outs ..
