Looks like i got it all figured out for my fire box to cook chamber opening is it better to raise the fire box up a little more to leave a chamber above the top of the cutout in cook chamber to have the reserve of air and heat before it enters the cook chamber ???

I dig the design. I wish I would have originally designed a hanging area for smoking sausage and other meats with mine. I will probably add a box on the end of mine next year for hanging product or a mini smoke shack so to speak.

Nicely done and KAM is extremely helpful. Just a good dude.

Got a few things done on the smoker today the more I add the more I love it lol I wanted to make some more room for my vertical door I went ahead and cut off the long side of the cope and added a angled plate gained about 6 inches for my vertical door on the face totally worth it also takes up some dead space and channels smoke towards the hole on the vertical stack . Also got my fire box door on and cut the slots for my damper with some custom hinges to clear the flat strap frame i will add later
