Need some advice on firebox location

Postby Quadkeys » Tue May 15, 2018 5:43 pm

Howdy all, any input would be grateful. My bday is coming up in June and I have decide to go for the smoker I want but am undecided, so please help me out with your experience. My goal is a backyard year round smoker that I can eventually do a 60-100#max pig on (rooter to tooter, hooves off). Main chamber I am thinking 48-52" long and 24-30" wide probably squarish, 2 slide out racks for sure, either a single pull up door or dual open out doors. If I do an offset firebox I can have a warming/smoke box above it with tuning plates or reverse flow in main chamber or I can put the firebox underneath the main chamber like a T for better heat distribution and pipes on either end. I have seen fireboxes at the back not many have I seen under the main chamber. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as this will be an investment. Thanks ahead of time...
