Horizontal smoker help

Ok first off I flunked math badly. So I need to borrow someone else's brain power for a moment. I have a horizontal propane tank 24"x 84" 155lbs the firebox will be 22"x24"x24" what should the 1/2 moon opening be with a 2" grease lip? What would be the highest measurement and what would be the widest? Also the chimney is 5"x 27". Thanks in advance and thanks for passing math.

I'd keep the grease lip to 1", measure up 5" from the bottom draw a line then measure down 4" from that line for the lip & connect the Rads between the base & the altitude so the altitude line is 16" long where the Rads intersect it.

You would need a half moon 16.5" wide x 8.25" tall to have a grease bridge 1.5" to 2" tall. this would put you back into the recommended 101.38 Sq. in. firebox to cooking chamber opening.

Much thanks guys!! I actually was able to fabricate the 2 door hinges and complete the cuts on the doors. Project is moving along nicely and you have cured my biggest hurdle.

Never used prints or Cad to design a cooker. The calculator is a nice tool to get your openings correct where the cooker will breathe as it was intended without a lot of trial and error.
