Does anyone know of a manufacturer (preferably local to the Houston area) wh makes or can make an Argentinian Grill? A friend of mine is in the market for one and would prefer to have it made. It seems like a pretty simple design and can't imagine it would be too difficult to build, but I'm not a welder.

Saw a pretty good one at Lowes last sunday, looked pretty solid although not super heavy duty like the oilfield pipes we're used to seeing in Texas.

It's called a Parrilla , so just Google images "Parrilla" for plenty of pics.
I wouldn't bother doing an adjustable height Parrilla, Just build something like this
and control the embers.
Remember the slower you cook the better. Usually it takes me 2 hours and 2 bottles of vino to grill some ribs or flank steak (vacio).
I live n Argentina so know a thing or 2 about this.

Why do some of them use inverted angle for the grill? Seems like it would be harder to clean? I'm sure there is a reason.

The reason is for the grease to run down and not drip/burn on the coals.
Most Argentines just throw down a Parrilla and cook on the grass or have a large fireplace with a simple parrilla.
I have an angled grill like in the photo below and don't bother to clean it until just before the next cook. Leave the grease on it and just wipe it down with newspaper or a wire brush.
Just build something like this.
