Looks nice! Cross your fingers on welding that out and keeping your doors flanged flush. I for one do all my welding before I cut my doors out. Then I work my doors to match whatever spring it gives me, fyi

lookin' good
did you think about cutting your doors with a cutoff wheel in an angle grinder?
that's a very popular way to do it now
you get a real clean, thin, straight line

Everything is already welded out... no springing when you take your sweet time.

I thought about it for a split second then I realized how thick my material is, and how much cutting was involved. I would still be cutting lol

Really nice pit you got going on. Sorry to hear about your wifes fam. Good thing that smoker is heavy, with all the flooding yall been having down there it would be gone. I know this is a BBQ page. I would like to see some of your trucks that you ride low in. I build bagged trucks as a hobby.

Well I didn't have much time to work this week, but I did get my handles welded on. The upper rack handles I had to pitch inward just a bit so they clear the door.
I also got all the material cut and ready to fit up for the adjustable flue (you can see the material on the rack in this picture). basically its going to have a 6" cap on top, and a solid rod running down the stack to a handle that I can swing one way or the other to open and close.
