It is easier on your phone. Go to Attachments below and it will take it from your photo library.

Its secured with a nuts/bolt and washer. The washer is on top of the angle iron which when tighten keeps the plate in place.

I guess my question is what would cause them to move? The obvious answer may be from moving the pit but mine is so large that it wont be moving lol

If you are going to set your in the backyard and never move it, then you wouldn't have any reason to lock them down. Mine is a trailer pit,

I have earthquakes but I saw the secured one and wondered but it's not hard to just recheck the positioning of the plates.

Last night I got the plate cut for the tuning plates. I cut a piece the entire run of the pit, and then cut it up into rectangular strips.

Looks good, the first one coming off the fire box are you going to weld it in solid?

@K.A.M. so I am starting to look into this. I would like a SS handle to run between my drop down brackets I had made.

When you say have them turned what exactly do you mean? Couldn't I get a piece of stainless pipe, cut it to length, weld a nut on the inside, and run a bolt thru my handle bracket and thread into my piece of pipe?

Maybe this is what KAM was speaking of

I have done this with square bar stock on tool handles in my farrier work - - - incase you don't want to use the spring style some of these might strike yer fancy

See I took it as turning them to take the typical dull stainless finish away by using a lathe.

don't know which interpretation was what KAM meant but maybe he'll clarify it later for us :dont:

Well last night I didn't get as much done as I was hoping but I did make progress. I got all of the shelves built, ground seamlessly, and in the pit. I will get the expanded metal on tonight, as well as the shelve guides so they can be extended out of the pit with weight but wont fall forward.
