Got the second set of walls done and welded

This is what the 1" smoke gap looks like on the sides

Here is where I left off... build calls for 7" front plate. . But man, does it looks too tall

In probably going to get hotel water pans for the bottom and this seems too tall to get the pan or pans out. The build in following has this and the doors align with the measurements, so going to sleep on it before I decide and weld this plate on than move on to the doors
Suggestions welcome around this issue:grin:

im thinking (2) 1/1/4'' ball valves for the sides in regards to air intake..y'all think that will be enough?

Exterior is all tacked up!
1" insulation all around besides the bottom which has 2"insulation


Drilled holes to weld some support on the sides







Ball valve on sides, one front, one back


Spare crappie magazine I'll incorporate into the exhaust cover


Left off here..mocking up the handles and hinges....doors next and ready for powder coat

Off to Powdercoat today! Shout out to my boy JBROOKS who got down on the powder coat. . Textured finish looks great! more to come when the sun comes up




Hinge welded in a fashion that makes the doors removable
Really helps when moving the smoker around:razz:top door is easily 500lb haha




Adding rails
Just mocked up to see how they would look..5"between racks

I going to strip the powder coat off of my cube and powder coat it textured blue now. After doing yours yesterday I got jealous! LOL That bad boy held temp pretty well when it came out off the oven. Great build bro!!!

Lol, meant 50 lb haha...it's north of that actually. ..sure it's closer to 60
FINALLY, got the doors on a firebox built and 1 rack

very very promising thus far..10lb of Kingsford, a few sticks of oak. 50 minutes with seasoning and opening the door for pics and to add water ect..rocking 300 degrees with water! Was at 200 in 10 minutes and 250 in 30 minutes...rock solid at 300

Got the latches on ebay for about 40 for both sets. The buyer I got them from had a crazy shipping charge, so I Emailed and he gave me a lower cost around 10 bux

JBROOKS3 cut me a deal on the powdercoat, so you'll have to ask him or a local shop.

Yes, I figured two would be needed since it's larger. Wanted enough air without having to open the door. So far, seems to be working out.
