Good Price On Wood!!

I stopped by Harley's today and picked up 1/2 a cord of post oak for $50.00 (felt like that was a GREAT price). They also had hickory, pecan, and mesquite for a higher price. I'm gonna get online and see if I can find a "new to me" wood rack and go back and get some hickory and/or pecan as well.

That is a a heckuva good price. Fella down here who sells split oak to the yups for firewood in the winter is way up above 200 per cord and you haul it. Actually think he might be closer to 300 since he goes up each year. His wood is only 18" long too..so you dont get a full cord.

Sounds like a great price. :D :D I'd be gettin' some of that Pecan too. :D :D As for as a wood rack, you could get some flat concrete stepping stones and lay 4X4 landscape timbers on them and stack the wood on the timbers, then cover with a tarp. :D

If you cover with a tarp, becarful and allow most of the stack to breath. I am not sure how much rain or humitity (sp) you have in your area. But, that could cause the wood to mildow, and not dry out well.
