smokin wood-not soakin wood

Postby dub' » Mon Jul 23, 2012 6:24 pm

I don't see why people still bother soaking their smoking chunks and chips.
Log burners don't wet their wood,do they? :laughing7:
The times I tried it the water turned brown. Seems to me that I might be losing something in there--just like what happens when you par-boil ribs! (which is purentee sacrilege!)
Makes more sense and less work to wrap the chunks with foil to prevent flare-ups. You get free charcoal that way!

I drive a flowerpot,too.
The LAST thing I want is any marked quantity of water loose inside my cooker.
Thermal downshock can be a real beeesh.
