Outside cooking area

Postby OSD » Sat Jun 09, 2007 11:25 am

Ok, Puff, It's not a fancy island, but it works for us.
When I did the back of the house I added an insulated roof area the length of the house that extended out 10 ft past the eve. Then had a preloaded beam made so that the 30 ft span at the house end of the pool cage and roof wouldn't have to have any support poles. Then at the end of the left end of the patio we ran a 9x24 slab down the side of the house and roofed it over. Installed lights and water. This is our grilling and smoking area. :D :D

We spend a lot of time out there. :D We cook and eat out on the patio most evenings. :D Having the grills and smoker out of the weather really makes it nice. :D Believe it or not that old Weber kettle gets the most use.:D
I really like it when the weather gets cool and we fire up the fireplace and sit around it and relax after dinner. 8)

Hey Chuck, In the real dead of winter I need my longjohns. We sometimes get a week or so of 50* weather and maybe a day or two in the 40's.

Your killin me Jim!!!

Kinda like when we lived in South America for 7 years as a child. Average temp was like 75* year round. I never owned a jacket, coat or even a little sweater until I was like 8 or so and we had moved back here to the good ol US of A. Never saw snow until I was 9 or 10.

Man, that is an awesome set up. I'm hoping to do something similar myself someday.
