TGCBCA to ICBA differences

Postby Scott P » Thu Sep 15, 2016 11:07 am

I do just one cook off per year, the EMC Fair and Rodeo. With the merger/acquisition/etc of TGCBCA and ICBA, they are now using ICBA rules instead of the TGCBCA rules as in past years. What differences are there and what can expect to change? I've read through the rules for the cook off and they look the same, especially in regards to turn in boxes. Some Google-fu found an ICBA score sheet and I looked that over as well. I didn't have a prior one to compare.

I'm just curious what differences there will be, if any.

If you did not know you were cooking IBCA you could not tell the difference in the judging area or the turn in boxes. About the only real difference in the two was amounts turned in. Texas Gulf Coast was always 9/9/2 and IBCA varied with the amount of teams. Now IBCA has 9/9/2 for all their events.
I hope this helps. :D

We will be in spot #5, Buddha Belly BBQ. I hope the predicted rain stays away. Stop by and say hello. Ask for Scott. I'll be the good looking one. :)
