Newbie ?'s

Postby LOVE PORK N' MY WIFE » Thu Apr 23, 2015 10:38 am

Hey guys,

A newbie to competition here. I have a few questions that I'd like to ask.

First, low and slow or hot and fast? What is your preference?

Second, sink or tubs for hand and dish washing at competitions? Not sure which direction to go here for my trailer.

Third, do most competitions have water and electronic or no?

Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions in the future. Lol

Hot and fast for me, but that's just my style of cooking.
We usually use a combo of tubs and a folding table with a built in sink. We try to keep as much mess as possible out of the camper.
Electric and water probably depends on what area your cooking in. In my area, most comps have both, a couple of them have water only.

Practice, practice, practice. Get your timelines down.

I would say we are in between the two. Not low and slow but not hot & fast either.

I have a two bay sink on my cooker with a 30 gall fresh water tank. I also have it piped for city water, we use an ecotemp on demand water heater. I like having the sink and hot water.

Most of the ones we do have electricity and water some do not. For the ones that do not we have fresh water and a generator.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions in the future. Lol
Always remember slow and steady wins the race.
