Sauce is the boss...Or is it?

I have been raised not to use sauce on bbq...unless it's not good bbq. I know KCBS and yankees are all about sauce. I am entering my second comp this weekend (Camp Allen Craig benefit) at Bass Pro. I haven't seen anywhere if it's IBCA, or KCBS. I believe it's non-sanctioned. Does this mean people can throw sauce on if they want? I guess I will find out at 4pm today at the cooks meeting. But I didn't pack any sauce...and hope I don't need it.

CCA is a non sanctioned cook off.

Cook what you cook! Don't change because you might be in a different sanction. At least 50% of the comments I see from kcbs judges is that people use too much sauce. I think that there is a misinterpretation that just because it's kcbs you gotta drown it in sauce. Great competition BBQ is a combination of all aspects with one not overpowering any other
