Base rub for ribs

Whats a good base rub for ribs? Im using copycat killer bee rub now.

Not sure if there is a good answer to this cause it really depends on what you like or what kind of flavor you are shooting for. Lots of good rubs out there like Hoochie Mama and OakRidge BBQ rubs. For competition ribs, I'm becoming a fan of a good all purpose rub that hits the salty and savory notes followed by a sauce thats brings the sweet and heat. I've seen all types of ribs hit including ribs that I thought were sort of bland.

Plowboys Yardbird is a good base rub for any pork.

McCormick Season Salt or Old Bay.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

Nope, I'm K.I.S.S. kind of a cook, like the OP asked "Base rub" what happens after that is a double secret probation proprietary process :laughing7: . Ya'll thought the Trigger man had secrets :smokin:

Been using Bad Byrons Butt rub as a base with some additions of my own.
