I have a competition this weekend and was looking for a photo of a Rib Box photo. I have found several brisket and chicken turn in box photo's and roughly 10 - 20 million photos of KCBS rib box's with green stuff and about a thousand CTBA rib box photos, rib chunks, but not any IBCA or LSBS rib box photos. Can someone post one for me or send a link to one. Much appreciated.

what cook-off are you doing? be sure to read the rules of the individual cook-off...they usually tell you there, but as far as i've read the general rules of IBCA they don't do the green stuff garnish but I'll be finding out more this weekend out at boozefighters (also IBCA). From what i've seen so far at TGCBCA they will show you a picture of what they're expecting at the cook's meeting the morning before turn-in.

Look here. This is a typical IBCA box. Sheet of foil on the bottom, 7 ribs, usually 4 on bottom, 3 on top. They'll tell you specifics at the event.

If your on facebook here is a link to a page thats has boxes from all different contests sanctioning bodies.

Its pretty simple really, under 50 teams we want 7 ribs, 4 on bottom and 3 on top across the tray in line with the hinge, over 50 teams and you turn in 9 ribs, 5 bottom and 4 on top. Holly wood cuts (also called kansas city style) ok.

I've always put the protuding bone part of the rib to the left when placing them in the box. I'm not sure if that matters though...

oh great.. now I want ribs! 8)

Great, thanks for the photo's and explanation. I quit the facebook thing about 2 years ago, to many skeletons, or should I say cemeteries, coming out of the closet. :argue:

Thanks again!
