Wow.
That seemed kinda dismissive...
I'd try shootn up w/ chicken broth just based on that terse reply.
I can name *hundreds* of instances of 'Where Chicken Broth Tasted
Better Than Beef Broth'.
Try it! It may turn out to be the New Competetive Thang!

If yall go and make brisket start tasting like chicken - I will throw in my judging towel and only judge beans, which already taste porky or ribs which taste sugary and sweet. :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Never tried it and dont think I will. Not saying it wouldnt work, but IMHO beef should taste like beef and chicken should taste like chicken. Just my take...

dub, you've tried this before? I'd be scared to mess up a brisket, especially at these high prices.

Also if beef broth is yucky (and some are) and chicken broth makes a good beef injection.. what does it say bout the chicken broth?!

It wouldn't count unless a trophy was awarded.
Really,DDD,have you ever found an over the counter beef broth that tasted better than its counterpart in chicken?
Look on the labels.9 outta 10 say beef 'Flavored'.

Try the organic low-sodium beef broth made my pacific foods. I think it's better than most others. Personally I don't really want my brisket to taste just like the injected beef broth. I just want SOME of the flavor and the extra moisture an injection provides. But I also add some of the butchers powder to it too.

Well I cant say I've ever sat down an compared beef/ chicken broth side-by-side so I wouldnt know. My response was a little tongue in cheek simply because most injections used in comps are to add beef flavor or enhance it with vegtable proteins, salt and msg, not change the flavor to something totally different. However, that being said I'm not one to say there is a right or wrong way to Q.
