Postby Que'a Syde » Sun Jun 12, 2011 8:07 am

i was looking at kcbs rules and all i could find was the same things as most others..but can anyone confirm for me that under kcbs rules u can trim b4 u get there? i read that the meat doesnt have to be in the original packaging, and of course no pre seasoning or other usual stuff. Just want to know if i can prep my chicken ahead of time...lol. thanks in advance..

Yes, you can trim before the competition.

want things to go as smooth as possible? try this....

trim at home as you feel necessary. then take the sticker that was on the original packing of the meat you just prepped and place it where it is visible (for meat inspection) when you vacuum seal your meat. the vacuum seal part really helps out when the inspectors come around. apparently some feel much better about the product if its sealed. go figure.
