Dutch Oven Cobbler

Postby Stan41 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:28 pm

Sometimes I like to do dutch oven cooking for a change. Here is my latest creation. Cherry Cobbler. Got it done just in time for supper.

I would also agree, that's some good looking cobbler. Need to get my son's boy scout troop to make some next time we go camping. Great job.

Good looking cobbler, Stan. Dutch oven cooking is intriguing! Been thinking of getting a 5 qt, just to see what I can do with it!

Thanks to all for your compliments. I enjoy cooking in a dutch oven, and they are very fuel efficient. I only used 40 charcoal briquets to cook the cobbler. Cornbread cooked in a dutch oven is unbeatable.

Looks plenty tasty Stan41; I do a considerable amount of dutch oven cooking in the winter months. Can't beat a hot fire along with some bottled warming refreshment on a cold winter day topped off with a dutch oven cooked meal.

Seen them but not familiar with the cooking aspect of em. For the dish you have here, do you only cook it from the top, or do you have fire on top and bottom?

I put 20 briquettes underneath and 20 on the lid.
