Pressurized Venison Rump Roast & Steak

Postby The Pocono Ring Shop » Sun Oct 09, 2022 7:23 pm

Well, this is completely new to me so don't be surprised if I totally botch it up. I hope not, my neighbor just gave this to me yesterday, came from a 210 lb 8 pointer he got a few days ago.

This gizmo I'm cooking with is " supposed " to be an amazing cooker.
It does a ton of cooking modes and it's a gift from my nephew so I wanna try it out.

Venison Rump Roast, Venison Steak, Onions, Potatoes, Cellery, Baby Carrots, Minced Garlic and Beef Base. All heavily seasoned with my butchers Prime Rib Seasoning.
I have no idea if I'm looking at 45 minutes or 2 hrs ?

Success or failure, I'll post the pics when it's finished.

End results surprised me, took about 45 minutes total.
Pulled Steak out early at 140 degrees and continued the roast for another 10 minutes since it was frozen.
Both came out tender and juicy, vegetables were spot on.

Pretty good way to make a fast tasty meal at night.

Woody, I’m not sure if you know how much the pics of your cooks were missed. Well done sir.

Much thanks GRails and Emm,
I was too tired to grab the normal camera and set it up so I went with the phone. Not my first option but I'm happy with how the pics came out and the stew as well.

Hoping to blow the dust off of the Akorn today, I have some smoked deserts I've been wanting to try.

We have an Instant pot but haven't used it much, just for stock, turkey breast, one particular pasta dish, and yes, cheesecake.

Looks delicious! :salut:

We do see deer but never an EIGHT pointer, wow. Lucky to see threes.

Yeah, been sitting here on the shelf for months so I wanted to give it a shot, I was lazy last night.
I'm told the air fryer and Broil modes work excellent so that may be next.

Cheesecake has my interest for sure.

That roast looks amazing!

My wife loves her instant pot and what comes out is usually pretty darn good. Wrong part of the house for my cooking though!

Thanks man, it was really good. I was impressed, I'll definitely try the other cooking modes over the winter.
