From time to time we make this fishsoup. It's been a long time since we made it so it was about time. Just the smell from all the spices when cooking this makes you hungry. It's very simple and easy to make. Cooking time is only 15 minutes. Cutting the veggies is what takes time.
Here's the recipe for those who want to try:
Serves 6 persons:
2 tbsp of olive oil
5 small scallions
1 Leek
3 cloves of garlic
5 julienned carrots
1 tsp of yellow curry
1.5 liter of fishstock
3 tbsp of dried chive
1 tbsp of parsley
1 tbsp of powdered garlic
1 tbsp of tumeric
2.5 dl of heavy cream
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1.5 tsp of thyme
A little chilipowder
4-5 small diced potatoes.
600 grams of fresh salmon or seatrout. Diced.
A little bowl of peeled coldwater shrimps.
Cut all the veggies
Boil the diced potatoes in a separate pot.
In another pot add the following:
Olive oil,all the veggies, fresh crushed garlic and curry. Let Cook for a couple of minutes.
Add all the liquid and the rest of the spices. Let simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Add the fish and the boiled potatoes. Let simmer for another 3-5 minutes until the fish is done.
Pour in bowls and top each bowl with shrimp.
It's so tasty.

I bet that does smell great with all those ingredients. And the pictures of the bowl and especially the potful of soup look delicious!
I bet that would also be great with chicken instead of fish.
Sadly, I am just not a fish person - unless its breaded and fried.
Beautiful pictures, as always.

You could use gulf shrimps. The taste in this soup is more spices and veggies than fish. I'm not eating much fish but I like it here. Our coldwater shrimps adds the salt flavor.OldUsedParts wrote:I love my Gumbo but I'm not much on Fish Soup, especially Courtboullion (Koo Beyond) - - - sho is purdy tho, Joe

Looks great. This isn't a good time to get fresh fish but I would love to try this.
Moink!
