A first for MOI

Postby OldUsedParts » Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:15 pm

Decided to do some Fried Cabbage today with a pan of Martha White's Sweet Yeller and I'll definitely be doing this again.

I also used SB's Espresso Seasoning even tho the Recipe suggested Garlic and Paprika. The Espresso is black pepper dominate and it worked great with the sweetness of the Purple Cabbage.

Also my first time to use my Wok "skillet" :laughing7: and it worked great even tho I couldn't cook all of a medium Cabbage. Now I'll have to figger out what to do with the remaining cabbage. :dont:

Wife found the Recipe but it seems I've seen you post up some Cabbage here also? :salut:

Yes we do it pretty regularly. Varying in sizes from the cast iron skillet all the way up to the Blackstone. Usually a base of some bacon and onion. Hit with chicken broth during the cook and seasoned with SPG. I bet that espresso was real good.

I’ll heat it up for lunch for a couple days afterwards

I steam my cabbage , then serve with a splash of mint sauce over it. Try it. It works.

It is. Some call it red, others purple.

The only time I've ever used it before was in a cole slaw with other cabbage and veggies and then it was just for color. :D
