Had an easy dinner tonight. Cold water shrimps from Greenland, a filled crab shell from the west coast and a few crab claws. Slices of fresh loaf with real butter. The butter is cold from the fridge so you must cut thick slices/chunks to put on the slice. That's the best imo.
Sauce made of mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, dill and S & P.
On the crab we use mayo, drops of vinegar and ground black pepper.
A great German white wine to drink was fitting.

Re: Shrimps
Good kick back and easy enjoying grub - - - only thing I would do different would be to make a garlic butter sauce for crab and shrimp dipping.

Re: Shrimps
I think there's a different culture for eating crab and shrimps. Very often we eat the shrimps as is, without any sauce or with only mayo, a few drops of lemon and a little dill. That keeps the clean natural taste of the cold water shrimps. Sometimes we make Spanish shrimps which is shrimps put in a bowl of very hot oil, garlic and chili. Very good.
The best shrimps is when we're downtown, buying a litre of fresh shrimps from the fishing boat at the oceanfront. Find a place in the sun along the oceanfront promenade and eat them straight out of the bag.
On lobster we can use melted butter, herbs and garlic.
I've tried crab with melted butter and garlic in the us. Tasted great but it's a different crab and more fitting for the combo. The one I got was warm crab. We mostly eat it cold.
