Eating away my STRESS !!!
So these past 2 weeks have been nothing but Stress. 3 nights in a row last week we had Yogi pass thru our front yard. The third night, he got real confident and walked up our front deck steps, got to the landing, turned and came up the next 4 steps and was looking in our living room thru the glass storm door.
That was enough for me to see so I made sure I called and got the Conservation Officer here Saturday morning before our trip to Delaware.
This week, Tuesday and Yesterday I listened all day about the Tornado Warnings up and down Northeast P.a. and Western Jersey, EXACTLY where I was driving all day, both days.
Tomorrow is looking like a 3peat....
Today was high winds, hail and heavy rain for about 3 hours. Its bad enough I'm watching for kamikaze drivers all day, but now I'm doing it with a 2 day old 95,000$ truck ...
So tonight we get home and see Yogis tempory housing unit in our front yard, hopefully he takes the bait " Donuts "....
So, I got in and decided to make us some quick Cast Iron Angus/Brisket Mix Sliders on Kings Hawaiian Mini Rolls.
The little guy got the Well Cooked version with White American Cheese, Ketchup and Salt on a Toasted Hawaiian Roll with Chips
Made the wife and I the same with Smoked Bacon, Sauteed Onions, Cheddar and White American Cheese on Mayo Broiled Rolls.
Good stuff, hopefully the Bear doesn't come looking for some....

Hopefully I don't wake up in the morning and find the neighborhood kid trapped in it with donut glaze on his face !!!

Lol - I was just about to say don’t get the itch for a midnight donut and get yourself trapped in there
That thing looks kinda like a smoker
Sorry things have been stressful. Hope they calm down soon. Excellent looking grub!

Lol, I ONLY eat Krispy Kremes and the nearest one is an hour away so I'm guessing it's from Dunkin down the road so its totally safe from mebsooner75 wrote:Lol - I was just about to say don’t get the itch for a midnight donut and get yourself trapped in there

Re: Eating away my STRESS !!!
The one we've seen this year looks to be one of last years cubs, so I'm thinking maybe 150-175.Rambo wrote:how big is the bear ?
We've had probably a dozen or so in the 11 years we've been here. The first was reported to be about 650 !!
Haven't seen him/her since but the problem is we have new City Slickers that move in and don't get with the program of keeping thier garbage in the garage til garbage day.
99% of us " opt out " of garbage collection from the township and take our trash ourselves to the transfer station 15 minutes away but a few can't be bothered and pay for garbage pick up and that's what attracts them.
The Conservation Officer feels good that its not a cub because he says if its a cub and he's caught in that trap, most likely it will be on the other side of the yard when he comes to check it.
He showed me a video of Momma Bear throwing this trap around like a rag doll trying to get her cub out of the trap.
And the last thing we need is a po'd 600 lb Yogi in our yard...

That's why I asked . Anything over 250 Lbs. is going to stand that trailer up when it starts inside . they didn't even set the outriggers

Re: Eating away my STRESS !!!
Yup, he asked how big because he has another one bigger than my car he uses for the bigger ones. He actually does have the rear outriggers down, I didn't think they were either when you mentioned it but I just went out on the deck and looked.Rambo wrote:That's why I asked . The front definitely aren't but I'm guessing he's confident the tongue is good enough.
He said this one will be fine for the one were looking for.
Aparently were not the only ones calling.
Our neighbors down the road got a pic of it and he said its exactly what I'm describing, maybe a year old.

It's a good thing you baited with donuts instead of those sliders because I would be all inside that thing if some of those sliders were in there!! They look great!!

How'd I get in late on this Pal, any time "anything" threatens a Man's Family THAT'S what STRESS IS Of course the Critters are just trying to survive and their nose is their best food locators. Hopefully this young one can just be relocated without any serious complications.

Good luck with the bear trap and the weather, WV.
Those sliders look great and your pics are superb, as usual.
