Late Night Sumpin Sumpin
Picked up a 3 boner PR Sunday night for us to rip into ! Rubbed with Evoo, then hit with Herb Crusted Prime Rib Rubb and into the CBBE. On the top rack went the Carrots and the Taters ( dirty ) and coated with more Evoo and Herb Crusted Prime Rib Rub Mix, S&P. Let go for 1.5 hrs, randomly spraying melted Butter on the Veggies.
Took it off at 120 IT , wrapped in foil along with the Veggies for an hour on the counter top.
Sliced and diced at 135 IT. Grabbed some Thick Hot German Horseradish sauce for mine and the rest is history.
Great night snack :):)

Dang Woody, you were due to drop one on us. You sure do good. I think if I brought one of those gadgets home the wife wouldn't be to pleased. But it sure looks better than some of the stuff that comes out of a fryer.

I haven't had much time at all lately for lighting the Akorn, but in time I will so all is good as long as I have this option. I've had PR from the oven, smoked over lump, and even from a rotisserie. This method is just as good as any of them, I'd argue even better in some ways.GRailsback wrote:Dang Woody, you were due to drop one on us. You sure do good. Only way I haven't tried yet is from this thing..
Ive also seen a video of a guy cooking one ( in the ground ) wrapped and surrounded by hot bricks, thought that was interesting.?

It's The Char Broil Big Easy Oil - Less Tru Infrared Turkey Fryer, ( original design ) You can still find them on Amazon.
Newer model is about 20$ cheaper and made cheaper unfortunately.

Correct.GRailsback wrote:So it is propane and not electric?
There are similar electric ones but from what I've seen and heard, they don't offer a ( crisper lid ) like this one does, therefore does not sear as good as the propane version.
I've had this for over 2 years and it's flawless.
Basically, anything that can be baked, or fried or grilled, this will do it perfectly. It does home made breads and pies like a charm. Veggies always perfect as well.

Re: Late Night Sumpin Sumpin
So I am guessing you prep everything then take it to the garage for all the cooks in it?
