smoked shrimp, cashew butter etc.

Postby desert rat » Wed Jan 23, 2008 9:20 pm

i can't remember who came up with the idea of using a hot plate, wood chips etc. for use in their smoker, but my hat is off to ya. best idea since happy hour! i think it was in an older smoked cheese thread but i couldn't find it.
i used a brinkman r2d2, hot plate, old cast iron fry pan and a couple handfuls of wood chips. shrimp, the cooked tail on kind, raw almonds, lotsa different cheese and cashews. the cashews were not to great, however i discovered if you put cashews into your chopper/processor and grind about the same as chunky p-nut butter it is pretty good.

I do love shrimp, just about anyway you cook them. Sounds good to me. I like the smoke idea. I have done that with the smoke pellets. Worked good. CF
