Got a giant bag of kale. Made some kale soup (vewy, vewy good!) and this braised spicy kale, which was dumped into a pan after I sauteed chopped onyawn, garlic, celery and carrot (in pig fat from those WV country reebz). Then, red peper flakes, salt, and just steeped in their own juice for about twenty, thirty minutes. Maybe I added a tablespoon of water. Did I say they were GOOOOD? Would likely work for collards, too.
Leftover chicken, gravy, not complicated.
About the taters...they came from a box. You heard me. Someone on another forum was saying he refused to eat any processed food, and specifically looked down his nose at boxed scalloped taters. We never had taters out of a box like this. It made us curious. Know what? They don't stink. Augmented with parsley and chez, otherwise prepped as on box.

This looks very good! I'll admit though that I'm also not a fan of boxed scalloped taters, BUT... They can be made to shine. It certainly looks like you did just that!

Great looking plate, wife grew kale last year, we had it coming out our ears, I'm over kale, but I'd eat your plate out of respect. I never had boxed tatters either, possibly KFC tatters? I buy my potatoes from the grower in 5 or 10kg bags. Lucky prof!

Thanks everyone!
The kale was the best part, but the boxed taters were surprisingly good. Next time, we'll bake them in the oven so they get a crust.
