Beef wellington: part 1

Postby Txdragon » Tue Feb 13, 2018 4:31 pm

Found a wonderful deal on a whole beef tenderloin at Kroger and could not pass it up. Got it home and commenced to breaking it down.

Needs lots of help to make it pretty.

A trim here, a snip there, and it's ready to go!

Ended up with my Wellington cut, a few petit filets, and some left over that I'm going to make the best burgers ever from.

I'll update this when the Wellington project starts. Spoiler alert: should be in a couple days!!

Looking forward to your way of doing it. It's normally my sons first choice for his birthday dinner.

Thanks all! Would have made it this evening but the wife already had her Valentine meal request put in. She wants ribeye and some grilled asparagus. Think the Wellington will be tomorrow.. 8)

Ok, I make it but with pate, I make my own, in fact I might have to make some pate this weekend. So simple to make, nice on buttered toast triangles.
