Postby egghead » Fri Jan 26, 2018 9:18 pm

How about a King Cake. Thought I was making one but when you only read half the recipe before getting started %#}*^<|!! :(

But it is real good. One and s half went in the freezer for an upcoming function :D

Very nice! Dumb question but do you cook it with the baby inside or slide it in later? I have very limited knowledge on the subject as you can probably tell…

Looks superb! I'll have to admit something.. In my entire life, I've never done anything whatsoever to take a part of, or in, Mardi gras.
I'm gonna have to add it to my bucket list for sure.

I’m in the same boat Dragon. I love Cajun food, music and the culture. Just never new much about it growing up. When I got old enough to enjoy a good party the money wasn’t there. My wife and I went to NOLA last December. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but I can’t imagine being in the Mardi Gras crowd. Maybe Galveston is a better option?

It goes in after cooking.

For those that don’t know, if you get the baby in your slice, you have to buy the next King Cake.
