Batch made for a gaggle of family members we will be visiting on road trip. Seven pounds of jalapeños were injured during pickling process. Fire roasted salsa is next, then smoked hot sauce.

Very nice!
I made Pickled Jalapeños once, but with whole jalapeños.Didn't turn out too well. Recipe called for Olive Oil and it just coated the peppers.
Also made Bread & Butter jalapeños.
I will have to give it a try with the sliced jalapeños, and a different recipe.

Also noticed the very nice cutting board. Did you make it?

I use a recipe for sweet pickles therefore they are sweet hot jalapeños. Real easy:

7 # jalapeños
2 gallons water
8 cups vinegar
8 cups sugar
1 Tbs koscher salt
1 Tbs pickling spice

Combine all but jalapeños and bring to slow boil until all sugar is melted

Let cool then add the sliced jalapeños- soak 5-6 hours or overnight. Also added a couple onions and a bunch of garlic. I usually add a couple thin sliced carrots mostly for color but they are good as well.

Then can in accordance with canning instructions. I put the jars in boiling water for 15 minutes.

I did make the chopping block. And I made these as well. Presents for sisters, sisters-in law, and all their kiddos. So don’t tell them.

Very cool.
I do some woodworking as well.
Made lots of pull-out shelves for base cabinets, a bar table, built-in swing-out book case. poker table, lazy susans, etc....

Thanks for the recipe. :salut:

I love the sweet heat - they pair GREAT with bacon - so any sandwich bacon sounds good on these fit right in....its that extra something.......I have never made them however - i buy them at a mom pop store next to me - but now I wanna try to make some. Thanks egghead!!!
