Maybe because we ARE chicken! It's 30° with 20 mph winds. We were hoping to grill, but the older I get the colder I get.
Oven-roasted, balsamic-marinated chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, swiss chard:
This one was rib steak, Sucklebusters TX Pecan Rub (could have gone a little heavier on the rub), repeat mash, but side salad, Caesar dressing:
For stuff that had to be done indoors, wasn't bad.

Thanks! Third day in a row of this wind and low temps.
Good thing we have leftovers.

in a few more days it will warm up from the 30's to the 50's and if the wind ever dies down, outdoor grilling will be possible again.

I've been seriously looking around and thinking of buying or fabricating a wind block shield/curtain/etc that would be economical, easy to set up and take down and then easy to store away until needed again.

When you invent it, let us know!
17° today. It warmed up to 26, though.

Our oven just blew up, literally, while heating a pie for guests. 26°and gale-force winds or no, gas rig to the rescue!
