Can Cooker meets Akorn kind of night.

Postby woodenvisions » Sat Jan 21, 2017 7:11 pm

So I've been wanting to make something different than the usual chicken or burgers, so tonight I dusted off Seth McGinn's Can Cooker Jr and put together some corn cobb ears, cabbage, red taters, an onion, baby carrots, and some Polska Kielbasa and 12 ounces of Mtn Dew to make the magic happen.
Added some pepper, salt, cajun seasoning and roasted garlic and herb seasoning and stacked it in.
Will be done in 50 minutes so I'll post finished shots later on. Also partnering with a nice rib eye over lump so that will be the last 10 minutes or so...

Not yet buddy, but hopefully soon. He's got 8 chompers already but still only 10 and a 1/2 months old so I'm thinking in another few months.

Gonna add these to the fire in a few minutes, I'm sure he's gonna STARE AND DROOL at us when we rip into these like he always does... Lol, he doesn't have a vegetarian bone in his body, we can tell already. :) :) :)

Sailor,
Can't go wrong with one of these.
This is the Jr and what I just cooked will be 4 meals for 2 people. It holds so much food. If you have a large family, u could go with the full sized one. Now that one is a COOKING MACHINE !!
You could easily feed 20 people at once !
There is also one called the Companion that is smaller than the Jr.

You can use ANY heat source and the #1 golden rule is to Always use at least 12 oz of liquid no matter if it's water, beer, soda.etc etc..

Cooking times vary and all cook times Start AFTER steam starts coming out of the top vent hole.

If you get one, I can predict you will LOVE it !

I need one of those cans too!! I was having steak withdrawals Saturday so I pulled out a couple T-bones. Turned out pretty decent. Overcooked but they was still tender.

WV, would you also suggest getting the rack? Reading reviews on Amazon and there is a lot of suggestions for it. Cookbook is ridiculous at $28 though.

Definitely go for the rack, it's indispensable imo.
Cookbook is pricey but you can find a lot of recipes on line.
