Don't hate us!

But we succumbed to an infomercial for a Famous Name Company That Sells Frozen Steaks ™. The package contained eight sliders (not seen here), four "Bistro" bacon-wrapped steaks, four baked stuffed potatoes, and (not seen here, since we et 'em already) eight risotto cakes.

There was also some chocolate dessert.

So, we made NONE of this. As in, we didn't grow, prep, or bake it. ;)

(However, I did cook the braised spinach with garlic, onion and hot pepper flakes. And the broccoli with mayo and Tajin fruit shake.)

The verdict...not good, not bad. We seasoned the steaks with Montreal seasoning. The bacon didn't get done, not when we grilled the first two steaks indoors, and not now, on the little Weber 'Q' gas rig.

I probably won't order from that company again. Yeah. This isn't Texas. We have to scrounge for our beef.

Hi Sailor,

I've found the KEY to cooking frozen steaks is to not thaw them.
Back in 2000 I knew a guy that had a frozen food truck route that sold steaks and steaks only.
It was a little Ford Ranger with a full sized freezer he would plug in every night and rigged up a backup system with Freon if the temps got too high.

Anyways, he gave me some frozen ribeyes and strips that were surprisingly amazing.
The trick was to cook them right from frozen.
I know it might be a sin in some eyes but sometimes we gotta go outside the norm so I say more power to ya :)

How would one go about cooking a frozen steak WV? I got some in the freezer right now that I could experiment with...

Chris, you can do it a few ways. You can do it over coals like you would normally or you can do it like I do in a hot cast iron with a lid because it will definitely pop because of the moisture from being frozen.
I just salt and pepper and Grapeseed oil but you can use what you choose.
Give it a shot I think you might like it ?

The sliders that came in that same pack weren't bad. But they were no better than Bubba Burgers, which grill real well from frozen.
