I noticed that KAM is fixin Cabbage and Black Eyes plus a Pig Goodie and I can't remember not having Cabbage and Black Eyed Peas on New Years Day. Even after playing a New Years Eve Gig, somehow the C&BEPs followed. The VFW Halls would usually stop us right before midnight, everyone would sing Auld Lang Syne and out came the traditional goodies.
For a long time I've been covering my good luck and prosperity bases with my good friend Betty Kellye's Cabbage Patch Stew recipe. However, I have tweeked it a little bit and use jalapeno black eyes (duh). It's simmering as I type and will be joined by a cast iron skillet of Sweet Yeller Cornbread. Just being able to eat this great Suthern Food is what I call good luck and prosperity.

That's what we were missing, the cabbage. Looking good, OUP!

This looks good. I do enjoy some cabbage. Wish I had smoked some but we flat forgot about it.
