What's your favorite dessert??

Postby OSD » Mon Jul 23, 2007 3:39 pm

Ok, most of us have a sweet tooth. So what's your favorite dessert and how do you serve it?? :D
I love warm cobblers with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. :D :D Just something about warm cobbler with that ice cream melting on it and mixing with it. :D It gives you this soothing and relaxin' feelin' when you eat it. :D :D

 I hate to admit this but, Applebees has a blue ribbon brownie (with ice cream) that is great!

I"m with Laura, anything with cream cheese is good. I'm more into puddings, creme pies, and layered desserts. I don't care for fruit pies or cobblers.

My favorite has to be fresh chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the oven. Gimme a glass of milk and I will eat until I can't move to get another one. :D

Cheddar's restaurant has a dessert called the Cookie Monster. A big chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Used to get those occasionally 'til I was there with my kids. They served it with peanuts and my son is allergic. :(

Now I'm tryin' to make it at home.

Papa's Bread Pudding

4 C French bread crumpled (about 1/2 loaf)
2 C Milk
1 C Sugar
2 T Butter melted
2 Eggs
1 T Vanilla (more if Mexican)
1/2 C Raisins
3/4 C Pecans
1/2 t Nutmeg

Combine all ingredients. Pour into buttered baking dish and place in unheated oven. Bake @ 350 F for 1 hr. 15 min..

Bourbon Sauce

1/2 C Butter softened
11/2 C Powdered sugar
1 Egg
1/2 C Bourbon (add to get proper texture may be less)

Cream butter and sugar over medium heat until well combined and remove from heat.
Blend in egg thoroughly. Blend in bourbon stirring constantly. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serve over warm bread pudding.

That looks like a great recipe Papa Tom. Post that over in the Secret Recipe section as well!

I'm with Rob... Give me a big cold glass of milk and a couple dozen chocolate chip cookies, warm and chewy from the oven.

I also like coconut and chocolate pies.

Just not much into desserts like cobblers, cheesecakes, etc.

We call it baked fudge,

Basically a VERY rich brownie I cook in a water bath, keeps the lower ½ gooey. Scoop (not slice) into a bowl with ice-cream….

Blows folks away when I pull it out of a Dutch oven.
