Wow, deja vu. I swear I've had this conversation before, but maybe I just didn't hit REPLY.

I do love okra, but I rarely cook with it myself. Fried okra is my #1 favorite BBQ side dish. Can't get enough! A diner down the street also serves stewed with tomatoes, that's pretty good. Gumbo's the only thing I cook with it myself, and haven't done that in a long while.

Anyone care to share or point me to your favorite fried okra recipe?

Well I was raised on okry in all its various incarnations and am here to testify for fried okry the prebreaded and frozen Stillwell brand is very hard to surpass. We aint used no fresh okry in years.

I love okra anyway it's fixed. My DIL just bakes 'em whole with salt, pepper and butter very good.

I love okra.

A word of warning though. When frying okra, do not get "distracted" by your wife, or the kitchen may catch on fire. :oops:

Yea, I've been in and out reading, just ain't had much to say the last couple of months, but I'm back on track now I think. Getting ready for my second comp in a couple of weeks over in Madison.
