Kettle Chips

Postby Gator » Thu May 24, 2007 5:54 pm

My wife is interested in healthy eating. Kettle potato chips are sold in the heathfood section at Kroger. I think they are free of trans fat. Anyway - I tried the "spicy thai" flavor. MAN O MAN are those things awesome. I now like them more than regular potato chips. Excellent spicy flavor, lots of ginger...great with beer (just kidding) (ok, not 100% kidding - but dont tell my wife)

Great stuff - just had to share.

You should try these. I love the blue chips. No trans fat/40% less fat than regular chips. I've also tried the BBQ flavored, exotic veggie chips, very good. I'm looking for the Yukon Gold Balsamic Vinegar chips. I may have to order those. I find them cheaper at Publix for 3.59 a bag. I eat these when I want to fall off the "diet" wagon.

I still love the jalapeno chips but I haven't seen the Thai chips yet. I'll keep an eye out for them. Still love the spicy Baken-ets (spicy pork skins). But no beer here either I swear !!! If you don't believe me just ask me. LOL Sure do go good with beer though. From what I hear. Sorta.

When doing concessions one is always looking for a competitive advantage so one event I bought Cape Cod Russet (burnt) chips to put with the sandwiches. My wife scolded me saying it was a waste and nobody would want those. While I was slicing and chopping brisket for the sammies she was putting Lays (ordinary) chips in the trays. Finally I told her to ask the customer if they wanted Lays or burnt chips. Guess what? The customers were kinda shocked by the suggestion of burnt chips but after looking at them they about 80-20 chose the Cape Cod and then came back wanting to buy just more chips.
I just love it when I get the rare opportunity to be right....:D
