Green's is off the charts. They bake their own bread, sweets, etc. Their Boudain is really good also.

Try their Café if you can. CFS or Burgers are gigantic

i dont have one favorite as I like lots of them but if I had to pick one store bought sausage it would be the Elgin Southside market, good stuff imo.
There is a local slaughter house down here too that makes their own and it is one of the best I have ever had anywhere in Texas, love it. They do a regular and a jalapeno and cheese. They also smoke their own jerky's, a lil strong on the smoke imo but still pretty good stuff.

Growing up in South Texas it was Patillo Bros. out of Corpus Christi. That was by far the best sausage around. I believe they went out of business in the 90s. My favorite now is V&V, but it's very hard to find in the Houston area. I usually by a couple dozen when I visit my family and keep them in the freezer until it's time to cook. I'll definitely have to try some of the others mentioned in the thread.

V&V hands down. It's almost a hidden gem in the north part of Texas. Most HEB stores carry it, and you pay a price but darn it's good! I had a buddy pick up some for our Nascar outing....he about flipped when he saw the price but after he ate it he said it was well worth it!
