Globe meat slicer

Postby Copasspupil » Mon Jul 30, 2018 10:56 pm

I met a guy today that fixes the hobart and other high end slicers. He told me that there really is only a hand full of makers with different names on the front. Globe is one that he has currently that he is selling in a few days. Completely rebuilt, upgraded switch and comes with a sharpener stone. Anybody have any thoughts on this before I bite. They sell new at 1350 or more and he wants way less. The Hobarts by me are flakey sellers and make me feel more like breaking bad than what I'd like for sure...

40 pounds of bacon would be easier with a slicer.

Swamp Donkeyz was talking about a slicer in one of his bacon threads, you might try PM'n him. There's some more members here that have slicer experience too.

I read it which got me on this idea in the first place. I’ve literally been trying to buy 4 different Hobart until I saw this guy. He’s the only one that seems real. This glove is about the size that Smokey has. It just had the bearings replaced is all.

Globe is a very good slicer. I have a Berkel, which I love, but I would not hesitate to buy a Globe. Does the fellow stand behind his work?

I believe he does. He doesn’t act like he’s shy about it for sure.

Then I'd jump on it like a skunk on a June bug.

Here it is with a sharpener included. Super quiet and lighter than I thought. Maybe 20-25 pounds.
