I make chili like once per week. Most people use "Mac and Cheese" as their comfort food, mine is Chili! But I dont have a set recipe as I am always looking for the perfect batch. I was wondering has anyone ever tried Liquid Smoke in their chili?

Never actually thought of it until you mentioned it, BUT I can see where it'd work in chili. Most meats I prefer to get the smoke flavor the old fashioned way. Unless it's something like a slow cooked brisket though, chili can cover up the flavor of the meat a bit. Light use of liquid smoke might offset that.

I've used liquid smoke in chili, but not as an ingredient but just to brown and smoke the meat.

It wasn't bad and gave a hint of smokiness to the chili. I might even do it again with a hurry yup cook.
