Came across this while cruising on information super highway:
The real issue this year is beans. The International Chili Society (I don't make this up) is now allowing beans in their chili contests, although at the world championships in the ghost town of Terlingua on the Texas/Mexican border there is a bean contest the night before the chili competition. It is an outdoor event.]

Occasionally I do like beans in my chili... :cowrose:

I took polls at a couple non-sanctioned type chili cook offs and surprisingly it was split about 50/50.

Dont see anybody in Terlingua actually using beans in their chili anytime soon..but who knows.

I still contend that chili and beans are two completely different dishes. Both are good food, Just not together. CF :D
