Sucklebusters Salsa Part III

Postby OSD » Fri May 08, 2009 1:40 pm

I mixed this up this morning before leaving the house.

After 2 hours in the fridge.

Aroma was great. I was a little surprised it turned very thick, no juice left in the bowl. I may try adding a little V-8 juice to it loosen it up a bit.
First taste, very good. Not really hot--about medium heat. Although some may say it's hot.
Flavor profile was good. Very tasty.
About the only thing I noticed was it was very strong on the garlic, I like a lot of garlic, but this was I think a bit much in the sample I got. This may be the hot taste Chuck and his wife were trying to figure out.

I'm going to let it sit in the fridge overnight and let people sample it at the cook tomorrow and see what they think. I post what they say.
I also want to see what it tastes like after it's had more time to meld together. I'm betting it will be even better.

Overall, I think with a slight tinkering, you're going to have a winner with this.

And the results of the SuckleBuster's Salsa tasting are in..................................

:drumnana: drum roll please. :drumnana:

Appearance...........everyone liked the way it looked in the bowl. It looked hearty and fresh.

Heat..........Most thought it was good, around a med. heat. 1 person thought it was too hot and 3 people said it wasn't hot enough.

Overall flavor.......Again most thought the overall flavor was great. I think there was about 6 people thought it had a little bit of a strong garlic taste and a couple thought it could use a bit more Cilantro.

There were around 18-20 people that tasted it. It went fast. Everyone that tried it, liked it. 8)
