Untapped market

Any chance you'll be coming out with a low or no salt rub anytime soon? Doc says I got to cut down on salt, I suspect I'm not the only one here in that boat.

It might be time to find a new doctor.

J/k, I've always tried to pay attention to the amount of salt/sodium that goes into the food I provide for my family but I'm always on three lookout for new ideas.

Told my traveling companion I would stop buying rubs and start making my own salt free.

Still have a bunch in my cabinet to go through.

Dave - I would turn in your driveway on two wheels for some low/no salt Hoochie Mama any time. :D

In this case the Doc is right, judging by the lab work. Nothing serious at the moment as in not any meds. I'd like to stay that way.

Dats - its on the "to-do" list.

Let me ask (everyone) some questions:

On a "no salt" Rub, do you mind if it has sugar in it?

On a "no sugar" Rub, do you mind if it has salt in it?

Or must is be "no salt & no sugar"?

Thx.

Sugar is OK salt is not.
The reason for that is either I can use K-salt or some Na salt on my own but I will know how much is there.
If you ask because a ingredient you include already has salt included I guess as long as we know we have a choice.

And truly SB products are not like the typical seasoning in that they don't use salt for ballast to start with.

I would expect to pay more for salt free.

I've been instructed that this is the order of priorities:
1. Low sodium
2. Low fat
3. Low sugar

Low fat usually equates to low flavor  in my humble opinion. Guess there's not a lot of fat in a rub in any case.

The best of worlds for me would be a rub that is low sodium and sugar. But if something had to give sodium loses out.

I'd prefer natural sugars to processes/refined sugars. Sugar substitutes cause other problems (they sit in your gut forever because the body can't process them) so I'm not big on them.

A good low salt rub would be great. I don't put sugar on meat (that I know about).
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

I would go for a no salt rub. I buy no salt when I can. I don't like salt being the first ingredient in anything. CF :D
OK, get over it, you lost. God bless America

I'd go for a no salt rub ! I don't add any salt to any thing unless it's in the seasoning already . Except watermelon !!!!

Don't use any sugar any more 'cept a little maple sryple in my brisket mop or apple cider for ribs. And everything I read about the pink stuff or other artificial sweeteners says it rots yer brain and contributes to Alzheimer's. But I can't remember why...LOL.

Like some sage in mine, as a small suggestion.

LOL. Some here might say I have been smoking it, instead of smoking with it.
