Elk Steak
Hi again, I had someone asking for a Recipe for Elk Steak, and I am clueless. Does anyone have a good recipe or some tips? Please note that I will be passing it along, so please don't share anything that you will be offended if it pops up somewhere else someday. Thanks

Re: Elk Steak
Grill it hot med rare, when it comes off the grill hit it with a sprinkle of Sea salt top with a Pat of roasted garlic & sage butter let it rest 10 min make it disappear .
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

Re: Elk Steak
Elk steak is delicious as is any part of it.
Sear the meat both sides to rare medium rare or medium Season only with Koshler salt and pepper AFTER grilling sometimes I add little garlic granular on one side only
Sometimes I let it marinade in Liquid Mesquite Smoke -turning at least 4 hours covered BEFORE cooking with pepper n garlic granular seasoning right in the zip lock bag or on a large platter.
On the side or before Roast green chilies and peel n slice for on the side or over the meat
Any other elk I add deer meat n make one heck of a green chile stew or chile which I won't share.
The elk is better than some steers
Buffalo meat is great also, as is EMUE

A mistake is sometimes a great creation
