Jalp Jelly over creamcheese

Postby DATsBBQ » Sat Feb 26, 2011 3:49 pm

While back I was at a get together where there was an appetizer that was good. Jalapenos in some kind of Jelly poured over a brick of cream cheese. Any recipes on the Jelly part?

Thanks but I'm really trying to find something I can make from scratch. Jalps are really cheap here right now, 1/4 of the price they were this summer.

Since the real estate market soured I've found I have more time to cook. As such I have taken an aversion to almost anything you find on the interior selves of any given market. Tend to stick to the outside walls where the fresh produce, dairy and meats are found. Of course there are times when going down those interior aisles are a must (dry pasta, coffee, flour, yeast, ziplocks...) but I swear off things like hamburger/tuna/chicken helper, all frozen TV dinners, frozen pizzas etc. I know this approach won't work for most due to time constraints and the like but it works pretty well for me and the Mrs.

Dave - Jap jelly over cream cheese is one of my favorites.

i have made pickled japs but haven't tried making jap jelly yet - it's on the list

A good alternative is tobasco jelly over cream cheese - comes in red and green. Pretty good.
