I make my own apple crumble. The family love it about once every 6 weeks. How do you guys do yours? I just sweat down about 5 chopped up apples with sugar and a wee bit of cinnamon. I then put into an enamel dish then I melt about 150 gms butter melted and mixed with a packet of shortbread biscuits crushed. Add a tablespoon sugar to mix then spread on top of apples then bake. Top goes crispy. Serve with full cream, delish.

Mom used to do something similar to this but I'm thinking she made her dough instead of biscuits and spoon dropped it in the mix. This is also similar to what we call "Cobbler" in deez parts

This is the basic recipe but they just look like a sausage but red. It's a cheap meat that we had a lot of as kids. Raised by single parent mother with not much for flash food. I still love the cheap cuts of meat and offal we had as kids. Takes me back to my childhood, savs and mash spud n peas. That's a good honest meal there.

I LOVE apple anything.. Apple pie, crumble, cobbler.. If it is baked or fried apples contained in a crust, I would jump into a stranger's no window panel van, zero questions asked.

I can't stand Apple Crumble with all the other bits and bobs - oats, almonds whatever else gets tossed into the crumble mix.
I like plain apple crumble that my grandmother and mother used to make with fruit on the bottom, butter rubbed into flour sprinkled with sugar and let the oven do the rest.
Old fashioned. That's me.
Maybe some cinnamon into the flour.
