Cabin Fever Bread

Staying inside and waiting for the weather to warm up is not my cup of tea so to help fight boredom I picked up a box of Bread Mix to fix for the Wiffy. Altho I'm not a big fan of the multi-grain breads, she is, so I did a loaf of Nine Grain in the Bread Machine. Cut a heel piece with butter for me and a thin inside piece for the Wiffy with a smearing of butter and blackberry jam. Wish I had the patience and passion to do the homemade oven loaves like T-Dragon but those days are long gone. Anyhow, one loaf is done and the Wiffy is happy.

My Wiffy could live on bread (yuck) and she likes the "ugly" multi-grains that look and feel like an asphalt shingle. :D I did this loaf for her altho I used a slice for my "egg in a hole" this morning - - shhhhhhhhh ;)

I'd take a slice, looks good. Now you got me to thinking about getting out the bread machine, haven't used it in a while. I know what you mean about the cabin fever, yesterday I went to Home Depot and then to Academy just to walk around and look. The wife has had a cold for a few day's so we have been just staying in.

We're into autumn now, rainy day here again, last 2 bread attempts were failures. Yours look good, my wife likes grain as well. Might try again this arvo.

Yaay bread machines.
re: moldy bread-if you add extra sugar or use honey for sweetener
and/or
do the pre-ferment or starter or poolish or pate fermentee thing
and/or
add acidic ingredients like yogurt it'll keep much longer and taste better to boot!
