Kicked-Up Simple Salsa

Postby Jarhead » Sat Apr 28, 2012 4:59 am

I made up some burritos out of some leftover pot roast and wanted some salsa for a condiment.
I only had one 15 oz can of diced tomatoes and several cans of Rotel tomatoes with Habaneros. And the rest is history.
Goes great with chips too. Can't wait to try this on tacos.
Easy to make. Here ya go. I doubled the recipe. It's that good.

Kicked-Up Simple Salsa

1 15 oz can Diced Tomatoes
1 10 oz can Rotel Diced Tomatoes with Habaneros
1 4.5 oz can chopped Green Chiles
1 T Sugar
1 T Dried Parsley or Cilantro
1/2 t Salt
1/2 t Garlic Powder
1/2 t Ground Cumin
1/2 t Freshly Ground Pepper
2 Med. Jalapeño Peppers, diced (optional with Rotels)

Directions:
Stir together all ingredients. Chill 30 minutes.

Makes 4 cups

Thanks BBQ Master.
The camera is a Panasonic DMC-FP3 that I bought off of Woot.com a couple years ago.
Still got plenty left for today. Had some on my eggs this morning. Good stuff there too.
Can it? LOL, too much government BS for that, to make it worth while.

Winner Winner Mexican Dinner!! That is pretty close to my salsa recipe except I fire roasted tomatoes, and grill off the Jalapenos, Serrano, & onion, and I add a little lime juice.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

I second that! I add cilantro to the blender if I'm making a smooth salsa, if chunky then I just add it to the mix. Try habaneros for some variety.

Thanks EggHead and Papa Tom. Must have missed your posts. Better late than never. :dont:
Thank you Bigun. I made some yesterday. One batch with all tomatoes and sliced mild banana peppers for the GF. She can't handle the heat. 2nd batch, the real thing for me and her daughter.
Gonna make up some fresh tortilla chips for the game tonight and then again tomorrow night.
GO CARDS!!!!!
