To soak or not to soak - that is the question?

Salads, slaws, veggies, chili, soup, anything you serve with a meal.

During the Viet Nam war I visited my uncle in Hawaii and he grilled corn for us. He pealed the husk back, removed the silks, and replaced the husks. Then he soaked them for awhile before grilling. That smoky flavor made them sooooo good! So that's the way I've done it since then. I also throw a handful of salt in the water before soaking the corn. That's probably because of working with field corn during my college days.

We soaked them in sugar water overnight...then used an injector and shot melted butter between the husk and the kernels without shucking....OMG came out sweet and buttery awesome!

I strip out the silk and all but one layer of husk.
I never ever soak.
Only downside is you have to pay close attention.

I do not soak my corn , I remove all husk and silk . I melt some butter with fresh garlic in sauce pan , place each cob on seperate piece of foil , and pour some of the butter and garlic over each one and wrap the cob and place on grill , turning every so often .

Soak in cold water with sugar on top of the husk for about an hour. Turn once or twice, continue to add sugar to top. Cook with husk on corn until done. Mighty bueno!
